CZI CELLxGENE
The CZI CELLXGENE platform offers visualization tools for the Sound Life scRNA-seq data for each group of subjects in the Sound Life study based on age group, sex, and CMV infection status. UMAP visualizations of each major subject group (e.g. Older Adult CMV+ Female subjects) can be viewed in our CELLxGENE collection.
GEO .h5 data access
In addition to the assembled data provided in the scRNA-seq Downloads page, we have deposited the demultiplexed, per-sample Cell Ranger output .h5 files in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) for public access.
These .h5 files can be found on GEO at accession ID GSE271896.
These files can be read into analysis packages using functions designed for reading 10x Genomics Cell Ranger .h5 files.
Raw data in dbGaP
Raw Sound Life scRNA-seq data was generated using a 3' reverse transcription method, and therefore includes subject-derived single nucleotide polymorphisms. To comply with personally identifiable information protection standards, raw data in FASTQ format is available in dbGaP for controlled access. These data are distributed across 3 accession IDs:
phs003841.v1.p1 contains most of the Sound Life dataset presented in Gong, et al. (2025).
phs003944.v1.p1 contains a subset of Sound Life data that was published as part of He, et al. (2025).
phs003400.v1.p1 contains raw data from 8 Sound Life samples that was published as part of Thomson, et al. (2022).
GEO .h5 data access
Demultiplexed, per-sample Cell Ranger output .h5 files from Immunobiology of Aging scRNA-seq data are in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) for public access.
